Bio

I am an applied economist with expertise in empirical microeconomics and environmental and resource economics. My research combines empirical and theoretical approaches in investigating the equilibrium effects of environmental regulations on consumer welfare, industry dynamics, and pollution abatement. Prior to joining Keio University, I was an investment analyst at Goldman Sachs (1999-2001), Fulbright scholar during my doctoral study (2002-2004), assistant professor of economics at Williams College in the U.S. (2008-2010), associate professor of economics at Sophia Univ. (2008-2017), and associate professor of economics at Univ. of Tsukuba (2017-2020).
